The Museum is open the first and third Sunday of each month (except for holidays) from 1:00-4:00 pm for a Progress Preview. Entry is free while we continue to work on displays. Come and see a preview of Concord’s history.
Vivian Boyd, an educator and president of the Concord Historical Society, is leading the growth of the Heritage Center where the Galindo home and Concord Museum and Event Center (the Masonic Temple) are located.
I moved to Concord in 1995 and am interested in its history.
I've also attended the Spring Tea for several years and wanted to become involved with the historical society.
When I saw in the newsletter there was a need for a bookkeeper, I saw an opportunity use my accounting experience to support the historical society. In addition to being an accountant for 30+years, I have been the treasurer for Boy Scouts & the PTA.

Concord Historical Society has made major contributions to our community. The venue is incredible and a real asset. I hope to serve on the CHS Board to enable more residents to make use of our historical venue.
I have been a Board member for over 30 years and am a Past President. I would like to focus on fund raising, specifically establishing a CHS foundation to ensure that our historical work will be funded going forward.
I was born and raised in Concord, a third generation Mt. Diablo High School graduate. Being thusly rooted in it’s rich history, I have a certain fealty to preserve the City’s story to the future, and Concord’s ever changing community. Outreach, Culture, Education and Diversity!!!
As a longstanding resident of Concord, I value the community in which I live. I want to be sure that those who desire to explore the rich history of this community have access to the information they seek. Serving on the Board allows me to actively play a part in ensuring this information is gathered, retained and shared.
As long as I can remember I have taken an interest in history. No doubt much of my early interest in the historical past developed from experiences living in an old adobe near Watrous, New Mexico that was once a stop on the Santa Fe Trail and watching my father reconstruct ca. 1850s Fort Burgwin near Taos, New Mexico.
My interest in history continued in my college years during which I took part in excavations of a ca. 1840s grist mill near Talpa, New Mexico and the Ontiveros adobe in Santa Fe Springs, California. Later, family vacations frequently included stops at points of historical interest such as Columbia in the Gold Rush country and the Customs House in Monterey. While in school my two daughters also enjoyed taking part in Living History programs at Sutters Fort, Fort Ross, the John Muir house, and the Petaluma Adobe.
Now retired I am actively involved with the Clayton Historical Society, the Concord chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution, and the Amerind Foundation in Dragoon, Arizona. I am looking forward to playing an active role in the Concord Historical Society, notably the new museum in the Event Center and fundraising.
